Think about bed side table in place of end tables that might be used in the living room. Bed side tables have more storage that traditional end tables. Place a low bookcase against the back of the couch for storage for their games and gear. Search thrift stores for a dining table that's inexpensive and sturdy. Use it in the family room for a family arts and craft space and board game space. And paint it in a cool and whimsical color. Have the kids help paint the table and use stencils or freehand designs. If you want add a glass top. You can even add family pictures under the glass. It will be a bright and personalized art table.
One of the best tips that anyone who is decorating a kids room can receive, is to let the kids be involved. It is their room, and in the long run, they will be the ones who will spend the most amount of time there. Use the seven keys to decorating, but let the kids pick out the theme they want for their room. If they need ideas, help them by letting them browse through photos, and then you can draw up a decorating plan together.
